ANTIDEPRESSANTS

I had been on the same antidepressant for a few years. I wanted to explore to see if there were any other better fits out there for me. I never thought that it would be the worst decision of my life. I learned “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” the hard way. My new psychiatrist had me take a DNA test to see what medicines worked best with my body. Viibryd was at the top of the list. I took my first dose on November 2nd, 2019. I had a suicide note written about a month later, planning on making it to Christmas but not New Years'. I ended up in the hospital, but my psychiatrist was still convinced that Viibryd was a better fit than my original medicine. I lost the energy and motivation to advocate for myself. A few months later, I ended up in the hospital again. Finally, by getting a second opinion, I was put back on the medicine I was originally on. Since then, I have felt the life come back into my body.
